Unbreakable Test Cricket Records: 100 year old Test record which is still intact!

News India Live, Digital Desk: Records are being made and broken in cricket, but some records are such that it becomes almost impossible to break. One such record has been untouched in the history of Test cricket for almost 100 years. This record was set by England batsman Herbert Satcliffe in 1925, which has not been able to break till date.

Unbreakable record of Test cricket

Herbert Satcliff holds the record for scoring the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket. He had completed 1000 runs in just 12 innings. He achieved this achievement against Australia. This record was equalized by Eratte Vix of West Indies in 1949. Vix also completed 1000 runs in just 12 innings, but till date no batsman was able to break this record.

Even Don Bradman could not do amazing

Sir Don Bradman, the greatest batsman of cricket history, was also not able to break this record. Bradman completed 1000 runs in his 13th Test innings against England in 1930. He just missed this record by an innings.

Kamindu Mendis reached close in 2024

The possibility of breaking up this record once again appeared in 2024, when Sri Lankan star batsman Kamindu Mendis appeared in tremendous form. However, Mendis could also complete his 1000 runs in the 13th innings like Bradman. He raised hopes of breaking the record by scoring fast, but history was repeated on the last occasion and Mendis could also equal the records.

Top-5 batsmen who scored the fastest 1000 Test runs:

  1. Herbert Satcliff (England) – 12 innings
  2. Everton Weex (West Indies) – 12 innings
  3. Don Bradman (Australia) – 13 innings
  4. Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka) – 13 innings
  5. Neil Harvey (Australia) – 14 innings

It seems that this record in Test cricket will remain intact for a long time. Cricket fans are waiting which batsman will be successful in making this historical achievement.
