New Delhi, United Nations: UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, amidst worldwide condemnation of Pahalgaon incident. He met Jaishankar and had a long conversation with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. After this, Jaishankar thanked Guterres for expressing sympathy over the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on the ‘T’ stage. While Shahbaz Sharif demanded a fair and transparent inquiry into the incident.

S. Jaishankar thanked Gutrus for his call and said that the organizers, criminals and those who confirm it should be brought under the purview of justice.

On the other hand, Sharif said in a phone conversation with the United Nations Secretary -General that “Pakistan opposes any kind of terrorism.” He also believes that the incident should be investigated in a fair and transparent manner and the resolution of the Kashmir dispute should be in line with the proposals of the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan is committed to peace. But if its sovereignty is challenged, then it is ready to fight with full force.

It is noteworthy that the responsibility of the Pahalgaon attack, in which 26 innocent tourists were murdered, took the responsibility of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba branch ‘The Resistance Force’, but later withdrew his statement.
