These are the major changes to be implemented from May 1:

Withdrawing money from ATM is expensive

After the completion of free transaction limit from ATM from May 1, the fee will increase from Rs 21 to Rs 23 per transaction on withdrawing money. Every time crossing the transaction limit will have to pay two rupees more.

Large changes in railway ticket booking rules

Now waiting ticket holders will not be allowed to travel in sleeper or AC coaches. Such passengers will now be able to travel only in general coaches. The advance ticket booking period has also been reduced from 120 days to 60 days. In addition, railway fare and ticket cancellation fees may increase.

Gas cylinder prices may change

LPG cylinder prices are reviewed on the first date of every month. Last month, the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder in Delhi was Rs 853 and Rs 553 under the Ujjwala scheme. If prices increase again this month, then there may be additional pressure on the kitchen budget of homes.

Interest rates may be low on FD

Many banks have already reduced the interest rates of FD and savings accounts after the Reserve Bank of India reduced the repo rate. In May, more bank interest rates can be reduced, which will reduce the benefits of people on their savings.

Banks will be closed for 12 days in May

Due to various festivals and holidays in May 2025, banking services across the country will remain closed for a total of 12 days. These include Buddha Purnima, Maharana Pratap Jayanti every Sunday and second-fourth Saturday. Plan the necessary tasks related to the bank by looking at the list of holidays.

GPS based toll tax system will not come yet

For a few days, it was reported that Fastag will be removed and GPS based toll tax system will be started. The Ministry of Transport has made it clear that no such plan is yet. Fastag will continue as before.

Government fare of Ola-Uber implemented in Maharashtra

From May 1, the government fare system for Ola, Uber and Rapido will be implemented in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Baramati in Maharashtra. There will be a fare of Rs 37 for the initial 1.5 km and Rs 25 every kilometer after that.
