Prayagraj will get freedom from jam! A new 4-lane bridge will be built on Ganga near Shastri Bridge, 850 crore project

News India Live, Digital Desk: Prayagraj: Good news for Prayagraj people! A new four-lane bridge is going to be built in the city. The bridge will be built on the Ganges river and will be in the right side of the existing Shastri bridge. This bridge will connect Dashashwamedh Ghat to Jhunsi and its total length will be around 2300 meters (ie 2.3 km).

How much will it cost?
It is estimated to cost more than Rs 850 crore to build this big bridge. Its entire plan (proposal) has been prepared and soon it will be sent to the government for approval.

When will work start?
If everything goes well, the work of building the bridge can start in October-November this year. The target of completing it has been set for four years. The responsibility of building the bridge has been given to the Setu Nigam.

Why is this bridge important?
The Shastri Bridge currently has a lot of burden on the trains. Every day 50 to 60 thousand vehicles pass through there, due to which the jam often gets jammed and the road also breaks again and again. Especially at the time of big events like Mahakumbh, there is a long jam here for hours, which causes a lot of trouble to the people.

What will be the benefit of the new bridge?
With the construction of this new bridge, not only will there be great relief from the jam in Prayagraj city, but this bridge will also play an important role in connecting Prayagraj with cities like Varanasi, Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Gorakhpur and better. People’s journey will be fast and safe.

Traffic pressure will be reduced
The construction of the new bridge will reduce traffic pressure significantly. Although it will take four years to build a bridge, it will prove to be very helpful in handling traffic in future, especially after Mahakumbh 2025.

Service lane will also be made
Preparations have also started to create a service lane (auxiliary road) to make the construction work of the main bridge easier. This service lane will go from Malak Harhar to the bridge and will be about 4 kilometers long. The special thing is that one and a half million tonnes of ash (exiting the NTPC power plant) will be used with soil and stone to make it.

Road will be made from ash
The Singla Company has tied up with the NTPC for this work. The supply of ash will start from the second week of May. By mixing ash with soil and stone, this service lane will be ready in about six months.

When will the service lane work start?
The company plans to start the work of making service lanes from May 10 and it should be completed by October. With the construction of this lane, it will be easy to bring the construction items of bridge construction and the work of the main bridge will be done fast. This service lane will help improve traffic system even before Mahakumbh 2025.

Ashes have been used earlier also
This is not the first time that ash is being used to build roads. Earlier, ash was also used to build a road for the steel bridge for Mahakumbh, and it was quite successful. That is why this time the same method is being adopted. This also reduces the cost and also strengthens construction.
