Share market closing bell: Domestic stock markets upheld Monday’s lead and closed on Tuesday (April 29) in the third consecutive trading session on Tuesday (April 29) amid mixed trend in global markets. The increase in shares of Reliance Industries for the second consecutive day played an important role in maintaining the market growth.

The 30 -share Sensex of BSE opened at 80,396.92 with a gain of over 100 points. It reached 80,661.31 points during trading. Finally, the Sensex rose 70.01 points or 0.09% to close at 80,288.38.

 

Similarly, the Nifty-50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also opened at 24,370.70 points. It reached the highest level of 24,457.65 points during trading. Finally it closed at 24,335.95 with a slight gain of 7.45 points or 0.03%.

RIL shares have the highest jump for the second consecutive day

Reliance Industries, who stakes a huge stake in the index, was in the top profit in the second consecutive trading session and helped the BSE benchmark closure with a positive attitude. On Tuesday, Reliance shares rose by 2.3 percent to close at Rs 1,399, which contributed 180 points to the BSE benchmark.

Apart from this, Tech Mahindra, Eaterial (East Zomato), HCL Technologies, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and TCS were other major beneficiaries. It increased by 1 to 2 percent.

Top losers

On the other hand, shares of UltraTech Cement and Sun Pharma declined by 2–2 percent. Shares of Power Grid Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, NTPC, SBI and Nestle India also declined drastically.

Ambuja Cement’s profit dropped 9 percent

Consolidated net profit declined by 9 percent to Rs 956.27 crore. It was Rs 1,050.58 crore in the same quarter last year. According to the information given by Ambuja Cement, the company’s profit is almost half on a quarterly basis. The company made a profit of Rs 2,115.33 crore in the September-December 2024-25 quarter.

How was the market move on Monday?

The market closed with an early lead on Monday. The market led by Reliance Industries led by shopping in large companies. With this, the Sensex rose 1005.84 or 1.27% to close at 80,218.37. The Nifty 50 also rose a strong up 289 points or 1.20% to close at 24,328.50.
