The Supreme Court today heard petitions related to Pegasus spyware. The court has agreed to hold a detailed hearing on the case. The court has said that it is not wrong to have spyware in the country, but if it is misused, it will be investigated.

The next hearing of the petitions filed in the Pegasus spyware case will be held on 30 July. Justice Suryakant and Justice N. Of. Singh’s bench has directed the petitioners to present the names of the persons who suspect that they have used Israeli software in their equipment.

The Supreme Court said that if spyware is being used for the security of the country, then there is nothing wrong in this. The existence of spyware is not a bad thing, but important is that it is being used against. The court has also clarified that national security will not be compromised.

The court said that if spyware is being used against a person in the society, then it will definitely be considered.
