Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is expected to witness rains in more than 40 districts on May 2 and 3 due to active western disturbances.

Major cities like Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior are likely to experience the changing weather.

Light rain is expected in Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, and Anuppur. Meanwhile, heatwave alerts have been issued for Ratlam, Neemuch, and Mandsaur. Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and other districts will continue to face hot weather.

What do meteorologists say?

According to the Meteorological Department, a heatwave alert has been issued for Ratlam, Neemuch, and Mandsaur on Wednesday. Meanwhile, light rain is expected in Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, and Anuppur. Hot weather conditions will continue in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and other remaining districts.

Senior weather experts say, recent weather changes are occurring due to cyclonic circulation and a trough. Rainfall was already recorded in eastern Madhya Pradesh earlier this week. From May 2, the western disturbance will bring rain to central and eastern regions for the next three days.

Even though clouds were seen over Bhopal on Tuesday, the heat remained intense, with the city recording 41.8°C. Indore reported 42.6°C, Gwalior 38.8°C, Ujjain 43°C, and Jabalpur 40°C.

Temperature records

On Tuesday, temperatures remained high in many districts. Shajapur recorded the highest temperature at 43.6°C, Guna: 43.5°C, Khajuraho: 43.4°C, Ratlam: 43.2°C, Dhar, Raisen, Narsinghpur: 43°C, Sagar, Tikamgarh: 42.8°C, Khandwa, Damoh: 42.5°C and Khargone: 42.4°C.

Weather expected in next 2 days

On May 1, heatwave conditions will persist in Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ratlam. Thunderstorms and rain are expected in Sheopur, Guna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli.

Widespread rain is predicted for May 2 in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Sehore, Harda, Betul, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Vidisha, Sagar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, Anuppur, Umaria, Shahdol, Katni, Maihar, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli.
