New Delhi : There was a terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 tourists were killed and 17 others were seriously injured in the attack. Pakistan -based terrorist organization TRF has claimed responsibility for the attack. After this attack, a wave of anger has erupted in India. The Government of India has taken some decisions taking strict steps against Pakistan. This has angered Pakistan.
The Government of India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty by taking tough steps against Pakistan. India has also decided to cancel the visas of Pakistani citizens and ordered them to leave the country. Apart from this, the Attari-Wagah border has also been closed by May 1. Medical visa holders have been given a fixed time to leave the country. The visa of Pakistani citizens who came to India ended on Sunday (April 27). The government has made it clear that if Pakistani citizens are found in India even after this, action will be taken against them under the Immigration and Foreign Act 2025.
So many citizens returned to Pakistan in four days
According to protocol officials, 537 citizens have returned to Pakistan by Sunday after the government’s order. In addition, 1,387 Indian citizens have returned home from Pakistan during this period. On Sunday, 237 citizens returned from the Attari-Wagah border. So far 166 Indian citizens have returned. Medical visa holders have been allowed to leave the country by 29 April.
There is also a lack of diplomatic relations.
India has ordered not only Pakistani citizens to leave the country not only to the Pakistani High Commission in India. So far, 13 Pakistani ambassadors and officials have left the country and have returned to Pakistan. The Government of India has said that no agreement will be reached on the issue of national security.
Visa deadline
The last date for SAARC visa holders was fixed on 26 April. All other visa holders were given a deadline till 27 April. Medical visa holders were directed to leave the country by 19 April. The Ministry of Home Affairs had issued orders to all states and union territories to identify Pakistani citizens and ensure that they leave India within the deadline. Home Minister Amit Shah himself asked the Chief Minister to take the issue seriously.
Will action be taken?
According to the information received, if the Pakistani citizens do not return to their country till the scheduled time, they can be deported. They may also face imprisonment. Punitive action can be taken against them. The Government of India has made it clear that no laxity will be tolerated on this issue.

Meanwhile, India has found evidence of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. After this, India took immediate action and demolished the homes of the terrorists.
