Mumbai: The federation of Indian export organizations has said that the situation has become challenging for Pakistan, as India has stopped trade with Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack. He will have to look at other distant countries to get essential items.
Sources in the organization said that trade relations between the two neighboring countries remain stressful and the new developments are likely to worsen the situation. Pakistan’s economy is already decaying and if its exports to India declines, it will suffer even more damage.
Pakistan used to get pharma and biological chemicals from India at relatively cheap prices compared to other countries. Importing from India is logically less expensive. Sources also said that Pakistan will now have to go elsewhere to get important items like pharma and chemicals.
Since the 2019 Pulwama attack, trading relations between the two countries are tense, India has withdrawn the status of the most preferred nation from Pakistan and imposed 200 percent duty on imports from Pakistan.
Pakistan will have to import pharma, chemicals, cotton, tea, tomatoes etc. from third countries.
India-Pakistan trade has also come to a standstill due to poor relations with Pakistan. In particular, the Attari-Wagah Corridor, which is a major route to the movement of goods, is now stalled.
