Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An intensive traffic awareness campaign is currently underway to ensure a smoother, safer, and more pleasant commuting experience for citizens.
During this campaign, action was taken against a total of 448 violators in a single day.
These violations included 172 cases of missing or stylish number plates, 3 cases of using modified silencers, 1 case of unauthorised use of hooters, 42 cases of wrong-side driving, 15 cases of triple riding on two-wheelers, 79 cases of red light violations, 16 cases of black film usage on vehicle windows, 4 cases of using mobile phones while driving, 3 cases of over-speeding, 152 cases of riding without helmets, 46 cases of not wearing seat belts, and various other offenses under different traffic rules.
Throughout the campaign, announcements were made via microphones at traffic junctions, urging drivers to adhere to traffic regulations.
At Radisson Square, Subedar Amit Yadav spotted a motorist who had covered his number plate with white cement to evade detection by surveillance cameras; however, the police quickly caught and fined him.
Similarly, at Rajiv Gandhi Square, Subedar Sumit Bilonia intercepted a vehicle equipped with an unauthorised hooter. A fine of Rs 3,000 was imposed on the spot, and the hooter was removed immediately.
