“The water crisis in Marathwada is getting severe. The district administrations should be alert that the villagers get ample drinking water as a priority. Water should be supplied through tankers wherever needed and the water crisis should be resolved with priority,” directed Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawade.
He was interacting with the officers and residents of Marathwada during the initiative ‘Samvad Marathwadyashi’ online webinar on Wednesday. He took detailed information about the water scarcity and water supply situation. He directly interacted with the citizens from various parts of the region and understood their problems.
Additional Commissioner Vijaysingh Deshmukh, Additional Commissioner Dr. Anant Gavhane, Khushalsingh Pardeshi, Resident Deputy District Collector Vinod Khirolkar, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Executive Engineer Vijay Kole, Resident Deputy District Collectors of various districts, Tehsildars, Block Development Officers, Executive Engineers, and Water Supply Officers were present.
Gawade further said that the concerned authorities should make proper planning for water supply considering the water scarcity in the coming days. The short-term and long-term measures should be adopted and minutely planned. The problems stated by the residents today should be resolved on priority.
A plan should be made for supplying water through tankers wherever needed and the water supply scheme should be implemented accordingly.
The residents from Gangakhed, Basmath, Hadgaon, Beed city, Cidco – Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, and other places presented their problems during the online webinar.
