A video featuring strongly coloured icy fruit ‘gola’ has gone viral. Served at a food street in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the street vendor’s twist to the classic dish has sparked both fascination and concern.

The video, shared by Instagram food vlogger ‘foodiekru on April 9, opened with a visual treat for foodies — a large white ice gola stick dunked into a container brimming with syrup-soaked berries. Within seconds, the icy orb embraced the deep purple hue. It was then carefully transferred to a paper bowl before serving it to customers.

The food vlogger captioned the clip as “Epic Fruit Gola”. The ice gola was available at Great Kashmir Ice Gola stall near the ONGC circle in Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda area.

Similarly, the roadside gola seller had other colour options, which he dubbed as fruit flavours.

From vibrant blue and neon green to dark orange, each gola was crafted with matching syrups and topped with its respective fruits.

The stall served gola flavours, such as raw mango, kiwi, berry, and pomegranate.

A few seconds into the reel, the man displayed creativity. He created a beautiful-looking gola out of the syrups and fruit chunks.

He generously dipped the ice mound into a syrup, poured colourful liquids on it, dressed it with fruits, gummy bears, and candy toppings, turning it into a colourful chilled dessert volcano.

Netizens react

While many were fascinated by the visual treat, others couldn’t help but question the ingredient list.

“Cancer is just a month away,” quipped one user.

Another echoed the sentiment with a dramatic, “Maar hi daaloge”.

Comments were also flooded with green sick-face and nauseated emojis, signalling the internet’s disapproval towards the recipe.

However, the video has garnered over 50 million views and nine lakh likes.
