Ahmedabad: Between April 2024 and February 2025, the deposit amount of NRIs (NRI) increased by 23.3 percent to $ 14.55 billion compared to the same period last year. According to the Reserve Bank, the NRI deposits were $ 11.8 billion in the same period last year.
By February 2025, the total NRI deposit is now $ 160.33 billion. In January 2025, the total NRI deposit gradually decreased to $ 161.21 billion.
NRI deposit schemes include Foreign Exchange Non -resident (FCNR) deposits, non -resident external (NRE) deposits and non -resident ordinary (NRO) deposits. The highest flow between April 2024 and February 2025 has occurred in FCNR (bank) or FCNR (B) deposit.
According to RBI data, about 6.75 billion dollars have come in these accounts during this period, compared to $ 5.53 billion during the same period last year. By the end of February 2025, the total deposits in FCNR (B) accounts were $ 32.49 billion.
The NRE deposits during this period were $ 4.01 billion, which was $ 2.63 billion in the same period a year ago. As of February 2025, NRE deposited was $ 97.93 billion. Between April 2024 and February 2025, the NRO deposit was $ 3.79 billion, compared to $ 3.63 billion in the same period last year.
