The construction of Gorakhpur Link Expressway has been expedited. The remaining construction work on the expressway has been targeted to be completed by May 15. The construction of the bridge at the Kamharia Ghat of Ghaghra river is about to be completed, which was inspected by several senior officials including the District Magistrate on the previous day.
Preparation for grand launch ceremony
There is a preparation for a grand ceremony for the inauguration of Gorakhpur Link Expressway. It can be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Gorakhpur to Lucknow now in just 4 hours
With the opening of this link expressway, the journey from Gorakhpur to Lucknow will be completed in just 3.5 to 4 hours, which was earlier in 7 to 8 hours. However, this new route will increase the distance between the two cities by about 30 kilometers.
Expressway length and route
The total length of Gorakhpur Link Expressway is about 92 kilometers. It will start from Jaitpur on Gorakhpur bypass (NH-27) and connect with Salarpur in Azamgarh of Purvanchal Expressway.
These districts will connect directly
Gorakhpur, Ambedkarnagar, Santakbirnagar and Azamgarh districts will directly connect with this expressway. At present, people have to struggle with the problem of traffic from Gorakhpur to Basti and Ayodhya, the formation of this expressway will provide great relief from this problem.
Total cost of construction
A total of Rs 7283 crore is being spent on the construction of this expressway 91.352 km long. In addition to minor diversion in some places, the journey on the expressway will be quite easy and comfortable.
