‘Ye Raste Band Karna Is Not Traffic Management’: Woman Confronts Pune Traffic Police At Mundhwa Chowk (WATCH VIDEO) |

While the Pune Police recently claimed that the speed of traffic in Pune has increased with their data-driven approach and efforts, Punekars from several areas keep complaining about poor management and traffic congestion. Recently, visuals from Kasba Peth’s Phadke Haud Chowk went viral, and now a video of a woman confronting traffic police from the Mundhwa area has gone viral.

At Mundhwa Chowk, a woman who was fed up with the everyday traffic jams challenged traffic police personnel and demanded answers for the inadequate control of the busy crossing. The incident was captured on camera, and it went viral very fast, touching many Punekars who face the same issue on a daily basis.

In the video, she is seen demanding accountability from the officers and emphasizes how poor planning and a lack of management exacerbate traffic.

In the video, which is poorly audible, she is seen telling cops, “Ye raste band karna is not traffic management (closing down roads is not traffic management).”

Mundhwa Chowk Diversion

At present, in a bid to decongest one of Pune’s busiest intersections, the city traffic police have implemented experimental traffic diversions at Mundhwa Chowk, including the shutdown of the traffic signal.

Several people have raised their issues on X, slamming this decision. “Do you want to know how dumb is Pune Traffic Police administrator? See this notice for traffic diversion in Mundhwa Chowk! Now see the road which they say to use for diversion! Who in sane mind allowed such traffic diversion?” wrote one user.

“It used to take 45 minutes to reach the office. After the recent Mundhwa Chowk traffic rerouting, it now takes over an hour. What kind of solution is this, @PuneCityTraffic? This feels like pure harassment. Please remove these barricades immediately,” wrote another user.

“@PuneCityTraffic Find a better way to handle traffic! Rather than implementing diversion and creating more unnecessary congestion at Mundhwa Chowk! Very disappointing decision taken by @PuneCityTraffic to handle traffic!” wrote another.

Meanwhile, her actions have sparked a lot of internet discussion, with many individuals expressing their own grievances and offering support. One important topic raised by the incident is why ordinary people must constantly demand improved services.
