Singer Pravasthi Aaradhya, who was currently a part of the reality TV show, Padutha Theeyaga Silver Jubilee, has accused the makers as well as the judges of the show of bullying, harassment and body-shaming. The 19-year-old made some shocking claims on social media, alleging how singer Sunita Upadrashta, along with Oscar-winning composer-lyricist duo MM Keeravani and Chandrabose behaved inappropriately with her.
Pravasthi shared a video on her Instagram handle in a bid to “expose” Padutha Theeyaga Silver Jubilee. She stated that after winning Star Maa’s Super Singer in 2024, she decided to participate in the new show for more exposure. However, it turned out to be a horrifying experience and nightmare for her, and post her elimination, she decided to share her truth with the world.
‘Sunitha looked disgusted whenever I was on stage’
In the video, she accused singer Sunitha of being indifferent towards her. “She always looked disgusted whenever I came on stage. She also badmouthed me to Keeravaani garu about my talent. When she said that, my earpiece was plugged in, and she didn’t know it,” Pravasthi claimed. She added that while Keeravani and Chandrabose were nice to her initially, their behaviour changed later.
The young singer also accused MM Keeravani of being biased. “When I got eliminated, he looked at me and commented on how he disliked singers performing at weddings. Everyone there knows I do that due to my financial situation,” she stated.
‘Cracked jokes about my body’
Not just the judges, but Pravasthi also levelled some shocking allegations against the production team in her video.
“They treated me like I was worthless and cracked jokes about my body. I did not expect this from them at all because I have participated in numerous singing shows. The production often pressured me to wear sarees and tie them low to expose my navel. Even the costume designer told me to my face he couldn’t dress me better because of my body,” she claimed.
‘SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son tugged at my hand’
Pravasthi accused the makers and judges of being disrespectful towards her mother as well, and addressing her informally, which did not sit well with the young singer.
Not just that, but she narrated another incident when songs were changed last minute to control eliminations. “My mother tried to get me off stage because she did not like how everything went down, but host SP Charan (SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son) told her she cannot leave until allowed and tugged at my hand,” she stated.
Pravasthi calls out Sunitha’s fans for bullying her
Pravasthi clarified that she did not share her ordeal because she was eliminated, but to expose the truth.
“To all the Sunitha garu fan accounts who are bullying and threatening me, first stop treating celebrities like gods. They are humans like me and you. Don’t discredit my feelings because you like their voice or talent,” she concluded.
Sunitha, Keeravani, Chandrabose and the team of the show are yet to react to Pravasthi’s claims.
