Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan presented the third ‘Yashraj Bharti Samman’ award to three grassroots-level service organisations in recognition of their contributions to healthcare, sustainable development, and good governance.

According to a press release from the Raj Bhavan, the awards were conferred during a ceremony held on Sunday. The recipients included Jan Swasthya Sahayog from Chhattisgarh, the Pratham Education Foundation, and the Services Plus platform developed by the National Informatics Centre.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including former Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse Patil and India’s G-20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant.

Addressing the gathering, Radhakrishnan voiced concern over the declining standard of education in the state, despite the presence of a large number of schools. He emphasised that improving the quality of education is a shared responsibility among all stakeholders.

He also highlighted the need for dedicated medical professionals and specialists to deliver advanced healthcare services in tribal regions, noting that such efforts could significantly enhance the quality of life for people in those areas.
