Bhopal: Lokayukta Police Trap CMO While Taking ₹5,000 Bribe | Representative Image

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Lokayukta police here caught chief municipal officer of Khidkiya in Harda district for taking bribe of Rs 5,000 on Tuesday, said officials. The Gwalior wing has also caught revenue inspector Ghatigaon of Gwalior district for taking bribe of Rs 30,000.

The DG, Lokayukta, Yogesh Deeshmukh informed that the complainant Bhagwandas Sen had applied for the house permission from Kidkiya CMO, Atmaram Sanwre. The officer demanded the bribe of Rs 5,000 to approve the map and to grant the permission.

Bhopal SP DK Rathore verified the complaint and after verification a trap team was formed led by inspector GS Marskole. On Tuesday, at the office of the CMO, as soon as the money was handed over, the trap team caught the CMO red-handed.

In Gwalior, the complainant Praveen Singh had purchased 42 Bigha land. The applicant had filed the application of demarcation in the office of Ghatigaon teshildar. The tehsildar had issued the demarcation orders for four times, but the revenue inspector Dilip Nagar was not executing the orders.

The RI demanded the bribe of Rs 50,000 for the demarcation. Later, he agreed to take Rs 35,000 for the work. The matter was reported to Lokayukta police and after the verification, the trap team was formed led by inspector Kavindra Singh Chauhan and other ranks.

Meantime, the RI took the amount of Rs 5,000 in advance. On Tuesday, as soon as the remaining amount of Rs 30,000 was handed to RI at his residence, the trap team caught him red-handed.
