Bettiah / Bairia: The incident took place around 2 pm. When pump workers Kanhaiya Kumar and Dharmendra Yadav were going towards Bettiah with money from Patrakha petrol pump. Meanwhile, two bike -riding criminals between Barwari and Mathouli chased and tried to stop their bikes in a deserted area near Mathouli village and snatch the bags. The criminals started air firing.
Pump worker Kanhaiya, showing courage, accelerated the pace of the bike and ran towards Mathouli village making noise. A crowd of villagers gathered. Nervous by the activeness of the villagers, the criminals escaped in the direction of Santghat.
On receiving the information of the same incident, Sadar DSP Rajneesh Kant Priyadarshi, Bairia Police Station President Anjesh Kumar and Srinagar police station president Sanjeev Kumar reached the spot and investigation has been started.
