Mumbai: Airtel has launched the AI-Inaccurate Spam Detection Tool. Who has shown 27.5 billion calls marked as spam to its customers, and after this launch today has announced two significant reforms, which aim to be two steps ahead of spamors.

Customers will now receive spam alert for calls and SMS messages in their favorite Indian languages. This new feature will be available in ten local languages, and there are plans to further expand it. Airtel’s AI-managed tool will now detect all spam calls and SMS coming from the international network and will alert customers.

 

Airtel intensified its efforts to deal with domestic spam calls and as a result, scamsters and spammers began misusing foreign networks to send fraudulent calls in India. Due to this worrying trend, foreign spam calls have increased by 12% in the last six months. Airtel is hoping to face this growing challenge by presenting new facilities.

Commenting on this initiative, Siddharth Sharma, Marketing Director of Bharti Airtel and CEO of Connected Homes said, “We prioritize customers and their response to our every work. After carefully analyzing the customers’ response, we have improved our solutions to better serve India’s linguistic variety. In addition, we see the increasing quantity of spam traffic on foreign networks, we have improved all SMs. Messages and phone calls have been decided to expand their AI-operated tools. Our dedicated team of data scientists will continue to work to improve and increase our offer.

Updated AI-Integrated Spam Solutions will now inform users in ten Indian languages ​​about calls and messages coming from domestic and international numbers. These languages ​​include Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi and Urdu. Spam alert notifications will only be made available in local languages ​​for customers using Android devices. All these facilities will be available free of cost to customers and all Airtel will automatically become active without offering service requests to customers.

Airtel’s innovative, industry-first anti-spam tool was launched in September 2024 and has proved to be a game-changer for its customers. This has provided adequate relief from unwanted messages. According to Airtel, it has so far identified 27.5 billion calls. This means that 1560 spam calls are being made every second. Since its launch in September 2024, the number of spam calls received by Airtel customers has decreased by 16%.
