Uttar Pradesh News: Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will start in July, distance of 3 hours will be covered in just 40 minutes

Another major infrastructure achievement is going to be added to Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway being built at a cost of Rs 4700 crore can open to the public in July 2025. This expressway will not only reduce the distance between two big cities, but will also give a new dimension to the economic progress and logistics network of the state.

The distance from Lucknow to Kanpur will be covered in 40 minutes

• Currently, travel from Lucknow to Kanpur takes about 3 hours.

• But after the commencement of the expressway, this distance can be covered in just 40 minutes.

• This will also reduce the traffic burden and will provide relief to the passengers.

63 km long high-speed corridor

• Length: 63 km

• Elevated section: 18 km

• New route: 45 km

• Connectivity: Amausi Airport in Lucknow to Nawabganj in Kanpur

Project progression and structure

• More than 50% of the construction work has been completed so far.

• The expressway will be connected to the Shaheed Path and Ganga Expressway, which will make direct access to western Uttar Pradesh.

• Earlier 6 lanes were proposed, but now 8 lanes are being constructed.

Passengers will join the expressway keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers and the ease of traffic:

• 3 big bridges

• 28 small bridges

• 6 flyover

• 38 underpasses
