VIDEOS: Warje Gridlocked! Travellers Stuck On Mumbai-Satara Highway Traffic Near Pune Post Weekend Getaway |

A massive traffic jam was reported near Warje on the Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru Highway as people returned to Pune and Mumbai after the long weekend spent in hometowns and hill stations like Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar.

The traffic congestion began on Sunday and continued into Monday morning, leaving commuters stranded for hours and highlighting the need for better post-holiday traffic management.

The Pune-bound lane of the Mumbai-Pune expressway on Friday and Saturday saw huge traffic snarls, and even the old Mumbai-Pune Highway saw a traffic jam followed by an accident on Sunday.

The issue is not singular but happens every holiday season as the road serves as one of the main routes connecting Satara, Kolhapur, and hill stations like Lonavla, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, and even Pune.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Warje-NDA Road at Shivne at 8:15 to 8:30 pm saw a massive traffic jam. Traffic was at a standstill for half an hour to a quarter of an hour. There were queues of vehicles on both sides. The Pune Municipal Corporation fire brigade vehicle was also stuck in this traffic jam. The siren was blaring loudly, but there was no choice, and people could not move. The traffic police were not there. After some time, some female and male police personnel arrived. Many local youths and some citizens came to help, and the unruly drivers slowly took the vehicles parked in a row and smoothed the traffic.
