The politics of Maharashtra is once again taking a turn. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, in a recent statement, expressed his desire to re -connect Uddhav Thackeray. These signs have come at a time when Raj’s party is on political marginalized and discussion about the upcoming electoral equations in Maharashtra is intensified.
What did Raj Thackeray say?
Raj Thackeray said in the podcast of actor Mahesh Manjrekar: “Our quarrels are very small, everyone should come together in the interest of Maharashtra and Marathi. It will not be just with my wish, all parties will have to unite.”
Raj’s statement shows that he is on the path of political revival and now he can try to re -connect his old paths.
Uddhav Thackeray reacted
Uddhav Thackeray also showed softening on Raj’s statement and said: “I am ready to forget small quarrels. Marathi people should unite, but if someone supports the BJP and then talks about solidarity, it will not work. We should take an oath in the name of Shivaji Maharaj that we will not alliance with thieves.”
Uddhav’s statement is a clear indication that he is open with Raj’s reconciliation, provided distance from the BJP.
The story of divide and MNS formed in Shiv Sena
-
In the 1990s, both Raj and Uddhav Thackeray were active in the Shiv Sena with Bala Saheb.
-
Due to Raj’s aggressive style and popularity, he was considered to be the successor of Bala Saheb.
-
Raj Thackeray started feeling himself after Uddhav was made Uddhav as the acting president of Shiv Sena in 2003.
-
In 2005, Raj Thackeray left the Shiv Sena and formed MNS.
Raj then said, “I asked for respect, got insult in return.”
MNS’s political journey: from lifting to collapse
-
In 2009, MNS won 13 seats and made a bang.
-
But over time the party’s political grip weakened.
-
MNS could not win a single seat in the 2024 assembly elections.
-
Raj Thackeray’s meetings with BJP leaders continued to be stuck, but no formal alliance took place.
What are the signs now?
Raj Thackeray’s statement and Uddhav Thackeray’s response seems that the relationship between the two may start afresh.
If Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) and MNS come together, a strong alliance can be formed in the name of Marathi Asmita in Maharashtra.
But the big question is:
Will Raj keep distance from BJP?
Will Uddhav be able to forget his old grievances?
Will this political mail write a new chapter in Maharashtra politics?
