Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 14-year-old girl consumed poison over mother’s scolding in Bhopal’s Gandhi Nagar, as reported by police on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, and she passed away during treatment on Sunday morning.
According to information, the deceased was identified as Rupali Soni. She was the only daughter of Shankar Soni, a resident of Vikas Nagar.
The family informed Rupali had recently appeared for her Class 10 board exams. She used to spend a lot of time on her phone. Due to this, she often received her mother’s scolding.
No suicide note found
On Friday afternoon, after being scolded again, Rupali reportedly consumed rat poison kept at home. Her parents rushed her to the hospital after she began vomiting, but she could not be saved.
Her uncle, Shyam Kumar Soni, confirmed that Rupali took the extreme step after being upset with her mother’s scolding.
The detailed statements from the family have not yet been recorded yet. No suicide note was found. The exact reason behind the suicide will be clear only after the investigation is complete.
The girl’s body was handed over to the family on Sunday afternoon after the post-mortem. The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
