Punjab Kings prevailed by 5 wickets victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their IPL match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB’s batting lineup struggled, scoring 95/9 in 14 overs, while Punjab Kings chased down the target with 11 balls to spare.

RCB’s batting was marked by inconsistency, with skipper Rajat Patidar scoring 23 runs off 18 balls (1 boundary and 1 six). Tim David was the standout performer, contributing 50 runs off 26 balls (5 boundaries and 3 sixes). Despite David’s efforts, RCB’s innings was plagued by frequent wickets. Marco Jansen was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab Kings, taking 2 wickets for 10 runs in his 3 overs. His precise bowling and clever variations troubled RCB’s batsmen, restricting their scoring opportunities.

Josh Hazlewood’s double-wicket over rocks Punjab Kings but his efforts go in vain

Punjab Kings’ batsmen took charge from the start, with Priyansh Arya scoring 16 runs off 11 balls (1 boundaries and 1 six) and Josh Inglis adding 14 runs off 17 balls (2 boundaries).

Josh Hazlewood was the most effective bowler for RCB, taking 3 wicket for 13 runs in 3 overs, including dismissing Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis. However, his efforts were not enough to stem the tide of Punjab’s batting juggernaut. With this win, Punjab Kings assert their dominance over RCB, highlighting the significant gap between the two teams’ performances.

Although Punjab Kings had lost five wickets in pursuit of the target, Marcus Stoinis and Nehal Wadhera held their nerves to finish off the match. It also proved to be RCB’s third home defeat this year.
