A shocking incident has come to light in Belize, where a passenger aircraft was abducted by Akinayela Taylor, a former US military worker. The aircraft was of Tropic Air and had 14 passengers and two crew members. The incident of kidnapping ended when a passenger shot Taylor in self -defense, killing him. All other passengers and crew are safe.
Aircraft attack and tried hijack
Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams said that Taylor attacked two passengers and a pilot in the aircraft with a knife, injuring all three seriously and admitted to the hospital. During the incident, a passenger who had a legitimate license to keep a weapon shot Taylor. After the firing, he handed over his gun to the police.
Demand and background of hijacker
According to police and US officials, Taylor demanded that he be taken to America. He allegedly wanted to enter Belize via Mexico via the northern border, but the border officials refused to give him admission. It is not yet clear how he entered Belize.

According to the Belize Airport Consestion Company, the Tropic Air aircraft was flying from Corozal to San Pedro. The incident took place on Thursday morning at 8:30 pm local time. After Taylor’s attempt to control the aircraft, the administration immediately declared a complete emergency. After this, the aircraft was taken safely at Ladiwila Airport after circling the air for several hours.
Given the seriousness of the incident, officials of both Belize and America are jointly investigating what was Taylor’s intention and why he took such a step.
