Earthquake tremors were felt in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan. The effect of which was seen till Tibet, Bangladesh and Jammu and Kashmir in India. According to a report by the National Center for Sisamology (NCS), there was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan at 04:43 am. NCS said in a post on X that the earthquake came at a depth of 75 km.

 

According to the United Nations Office (UNOCHA) on climate change, natural disasters including floods, landslides and earthquakes in Afghanistan are frequent. The UNOCHA said that continuous earthquakes in Afghanistan damage many areas.

 

Terks of terrible earthquake in Afghanistan

According to the Red Cross, Afghanistan has a history of powerful earthquakes and the Hindu Kush mountain range is geopolitically active area, where earthquakes occur every year. Afghanistan is located on several corruption lines between Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.

The intensity of the earthquake in Afghanistan measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, which is considered a moderate to high intensity earthquake. If the earthquake of such intensity falls in a densely populated area, it can cause widespread damage, although there is no news of any major damage this time.

Earlier, there was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Tajikistan. This was the third earthquake in the Central Asian country in the last two days. Two earthquakes were felt on Sunday in Tajikistan, the intensity of the first earthquake was 6.1 and the intensity of the second earthquake was 3.9.
