According to IMD, 105 per cent i.e. 87 cm of rainfall is likely in 2025. The monsoon season lasts for 4 months, for which the long -term average (LPA) is 868.6 mm i.e. 86.86 cm. This means that there will be so much rain in the entire season.

The states where more than normal rainfall is estimated include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, West Bengal and Telangana. The states that are expected to receive less than normal rainfall include Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Ladakh and Northeast states. The monsoon usually enters Kerala around 1 June.
