The prices of petrol and diesel remained stable in the new prices released on 16 April 2025, due to which the disappointment of consumers remains intact. Crude oil prices in the international market have come down to below $ 65 per barrel, but the domestic market has not shown its effect.
There has been no change in the new rates released by government oil companies. In March last year, the price of petrol and diesel was cut by two rupees each, but since then the prices have remained stable. According to experts, after increasing excise duty by the government, there is less chances of cutting petrol and diesel prices.
Where is the cheapest fuel?
Currently, Port Blair is getting the cheapest petrol and diesel, where petrol is Rs 82.46 and diesel is Rs 78.05 per liter. Petrol is Rs 90.87 per liter in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
Crude oil prices fell but no relief
In the last few months, the price of crude oil has come down by about 14 per cent in the last few months. Despite this, prices are stable in the domestic market. Experts say that the prices of petrol and diesel are not decreasing due to increasing excise duty by the central government and margin of oil companies.
