Mumbai – Customs Department seized around Rs 25 lakh at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport in Mumbai. A foreign traveler from Uganda was robbed of Rs 100,000. 785 grams of cocaine worth Rs 7.85 crore was seized. He swallowed capsules filled with cocaine. These pills were removed after a medical procedure.

On the basis of a secret information, the Customs Department stopped a foreign traveler who arrived in Mumbai from Uganda on 9 April on suspicion.

However, nothing was found when their belongings were searched. Therefore, customs officers sought medical assistance and the passenger’s X-ray was conducted. It turned out that he swallowed yellow capsules to avoid being caught.

After the medical procedure, these capsules were safely removed from the passenger’s stomach. White powder was found in these pills. When it was tested in the laboratory, it was found that it was cocaine. Later, the Customs Department seized 785 grams of cocaine after Panchnama action on 13 April.

The estimated market price of which is 10 lakh rupees. Its price was found to be 7.85 crores. After this, the Customs Department arrested the passenger and registered a case under the provisions of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act, 1985. The Customs Department has asked how many more people are involved in this case. Further investigation was done to investigate where the passenger got this cocaine, who was to deliver this cocaine to him, etc.
