Iran-US nuclear deal: Trump’s strict warning, attack on Tehran fixed if nuclear program did not stop

The tension between the US and Iran over Iran’s nuclear program has increased once again. US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that if he does not stop his nuclear program, it will be taken military action. Trump says Iran is deliberately avoiding the ongoing dialogue on the nuclear deal and has reached very close to making nuclear weapons.

On Saturday, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witchoff met senior Iran’s senior officials in Oman’s capital Muskat. Trump then told the media, “Iran will have to accept that he cannot make nuclear weapons. None of his efforts in this direction will be acceptable.”

Next meeting will be held in Rome

The conversation between the US and Iran on Tehran’s rapidly growing nuclear program will now be out of West Asia. According to reports, the next round will be held in Rome. Confirming this, Italian government sources said that representatives of both countries can be found in Rome on Saturday. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in Osaka, Japan, that his government has allowed the hosting of talks.

IAEA chief will visit Tehran

Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Mariano Gossi has confirmed that he will visit Iran at the end of this week. He can discuss measures to give inspectors to Tehran’s nuclear program better.

Trump’s warning and Iranian response

Trump has also publicly threatened Iran in public. He says that if the agreement is not reached, the US can target Iran’s nuclear bases. On the other hand, the Iranian officials are also constantly indicating that they can enrich uranium to a weapon level, which will lead to steps towards nuclear weapons manufacturing.

Oman is playing the role of an intermediary

The first round of talks was hosted by Oman and it is believed that he will continue to mediate between the US and Iran. The two sides have not publicly confirmed the location about the next meeting in Italy. However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai said in Tehran that the next talks could also be outside Oman and not being given much importance about the location.
