The desert winds of California swayed to the rhythm of dhol beats and the foot-tapping tempo of Garba this Coachella 2025, as Indian-origin music collective Indo Warehouse lit up the stage with a performance that was as much a celebration of culture as it was of music.

While global music heavyweights like Lady Gaga commanded attention with their star power, it was this New York-based DJ-producer duo, Kunal Merchant and Kahani (aka Armaan Gupta), who brought the house down with an immersive experience that blended South Asian musical roots with global electronic beats.

Indian heritage on the Coachella stage

Taking the stage on April 12, Indo Warehouse made their Coachella debut with an unforgettable performance that not only highlighted their signature “Indo House” genre but also paid homage to Indian dance and culture. From the hypnotic pulse of techno to the festive swirl of Gujarati Garba and high-energy Punjabi Bhangra, their set became a cultural festival like no other seen on the iconic Coachella stage.

Performers dressed in traditional Indian attire turned the stage into a celebration of identity, spinning, jumping, and clapping in sync with the beats of the dhol.

After their set, Indo Warehouse took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post, writing: “From our roots to the desert — Coachella Weekend 1 was more than a show, it was a statement. Thank you for feeling every beat with us. The journey continues 🌵 #INDOCHELLA”
