Man Films Foreign Tourists In Bikini Without Consent In Rishikesh; Netizens React

Rishikesh: A Delhi-based content creator sparked outrage on social media after posting videos of foreign women without their consent. The man, who goes by the Instagram handle ‘Junior Michael,’ is accused of filming young European tourists in bikinis at a riverbank in Rishikesh and using the footage to create reels.

The video, which quickly went viral, show the women unaware of the filming as they relax by the river. The content drew widespread criticism, with many users slamming the man for violating the privacy of the tourists and using their images to get views. Users have also called for legal action, demanding the removal of the videos.

However, the video has now been deleted from the account which originally posted it.

Netizens flooded X (formerly Twitter) with angry reactions after the videos surfaced. “This is harassment, plain and simple,” one user wrote. “Filming women without their knowledge, especially in vulnerable attire, is unacceptable and creepy.”

While many condemned the man’s actions and urged authorities to take strict action against him, the controversy also sparked a debate over dress codes in spiritual and culturally sensitive locations. A section of users claimed that tourists should dress “appropriately” while visiting places like Rishikesh, known for its religious significance.

Several users expressed concern that such incidents could damage Uttarakhand’s reputation as a peaceful and welcoming destination. “Due to such outsiders, Uttarakhand’s image will be tarnished and foreigners will soon stop coming here for tourism,” another netizen wrote in response to the video.

No official complaint has been registered against the content creator yet.
