Pune VIDEO: Supriya Sule Begins Hunger Strike In Scorching Heat Over Deteriorating Road In Bhor Taluka |

In a bid to highlight the deteriorating condition of the road from Baneshwar Phata to Forest Arch leading to the Shri Kshetra Baneshwar temple in Bhor taluka, MP Supriya Sule has begun an indefinite hunger strike in front of the District Collector’s office in Pune on Wednesday in scorching heat.

The road, which has worsened significantly, has been a matter of concern for the local community. Despite repeated follow-ups, the administration has only given promises without any concrete action.

Supriya Sule, frustrated with the lack of progress, had initially planned the hunger strike on March 4. However, after a phone call from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Commissioner on March 3, who assured her that the road would be repaired within a week, she postponed her protest. With no work completed even after a month, Sule has resumed her hunger strike, vowing to continue until a work order is issued.

Sule, protesting under the scorching sun, stated, “I will abstain from food until my demands are met.” The villagers of Baneshwar, in support of Sule’s protest, performed Jalabhishek and prayers at the temple to raise awareness and express their dissatisfaction with the administration’s indifference.

The road’s condition remains hazardous, and it remains to be seen how the administration responds to this aggressive protest by the MP.
