Mahoba (Uttar Pradesh), April 8: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old man died after falling from a moving train on Monday (April 7) night between Ghutaai and Belatal stations in Mahoba district. The case has raised serious questions, as some passengers have accused a Government Railway Police (GRP) constable and a Ticket Collector (TTE) of pushing the man from the speeding train. The police are now investigating the incident.
A video has surfaced on the internet in which the passengers are confronting the accused constable. A heated argument is seen erupted between the passengers and the constable at the railway station.
Details About The Incident
As per reports from Jagran, the man was travelling on the Mahakoshal Express, a train that runs from Delhi to Jabalpur. According to passengers, he had a general class ticket, but he was sitting in the sleeper coach.
During the journey, a Ticket Collector (TTE) and a GRP constable came to check tickets. When they found that the man was in the wrong coach, an argument broke out between them. Some passengers claim that in the middle of this argument, the constable pushed the man after which he fell from the moving train.
Chaos At Belatal Station
After the train reached Belatal Station, the passengers present in the train created an uproar and confronted the accused constable. Due to the protest, the train was stopped for about 30 minutes.
The video shows that the crowd is confronting the accused GRP constable and the people are seen angrily questioning him. The constable then escaped the spot and ran away from the scene as the people were asking him about the incident. They also said that the TTE involved in the incident fled the spot minutes after the incident occurred.
Police Statement
Ranvijay Bahadur Singh, the in-charge of the GRP police station, gave a different version of the event. He said that the young man appeared to be mentally unstable and was sitting at the open train door.
According to him, the constable told the man not to sit at the door and tried to close the door for safety. At that moment, the man suddenly jumped off the train. The police also said that no ticket or luggage was found with the man and they are still trying to identify him.
Investigation Underway
The police are questioning the witnesses and gathering more information about the incident. The case is complicated, with two different versions of the story, one from the passengers and the other from the police.
The police have said that the investigation is underway and action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
