Allu Arjun starrer Arya 2 was re-released on April 5—16 years after its original release—ahead of the actor’s 43rd birthday on April 8, across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where the Pushpa 2: The Rule stampede incident had occurred. The incident, which led to the tragic death of a woman named Revathi and her 9-year-old son severely injured, during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, resulted in Allu Arjun’s arrest. To prevent a similar situation, heavy security has now been deployed at Sandhya Theatre.

According to a report by ABP Live, around 30 policemen have been deployed at Sandhya Theatre for the re-release of Arya 2. The film has been released in both Sandhya 70 mm and 35 mm screens at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. Authorities were seen thoroughly checking bags and scanning vehicles before allowing fans to enter, as a precautionary measure, which is an unusual move for a single-screen theatre.
