Washington: US President Donald Trump calls Narendra Modi his ‘good friend’, but seeing the tariff imposed on India, it does not seem that he is embarrassed by Modi’s friendship. Rather, Trump has created a situation that the export of Indian goods to the US is decreasing.

Even more shocking for India is that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving several concessions to please Donald Trump in the last two months, Trump has treated as if Modi is not in this equation and he has put heavy tariffs on India. Narendra Modi is ready to reduce taxes on goods coming from America by giving a concession of $ 230 million i.e. about Rs 2 lakh crore. Despite this, Trump has imposed a tariff on India. Since February, Modi has made several attempts to please Trump. India has promised to buy products worth $ 25 billion including petrol and gas from the US.

Apart from this, India has also admitted that America wants to provide F-35 fighter aircraft to India. In addition, India has abolished 6% tax on digital advertisements, reduced the borbon whiskey tariff from 150% to 100%, and reduced the fees on luxury cars and solar cells. Alan Musk’s Starlink has also received approval for internet service in India. Despite starting a comprehensive trade talks with India to reduce US $ 45 billion trade deficit, the US has not kept Modi into consideration.
