Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 51-year-old famous storyteller Pandit Rakesh Vyas from Indore passed away due to a silent heart attack on Tuesday— a few hours after narrating his last katha.
He had been narrating a katha for two days at the Radha-Krishna temple in Rajgarh’s Biaora under the Bhawarganj Mitra Mandal. After completing the second day, he spoke with people till late at night, stating that death is inevitable and all living beings will die one day. Little did he know, it would be his last preaching.
The event organisers rushed him to a private hospital, but doctors declared him dead. According to reports, 51-year-old Pandit Rakesh Vyas suffered a heart attack in his sleep. The next morning, when the organizers went to give him tea, they found that he was unresponsive.
His last words in katha
During his storytelling, Pandit Vyas had said, “Zindagi ranj-o-gam ka mela hai, kal main rahun ya na rahun, tum raho ya na raho, katha ka shravan kar lijiye. Raja ho ya fakir, ek din sabhi ko is sansar se jana hai.” (Life is full of ups and downs. Who knows if I will be here tomorrow? Whether you stay or not, listen to the katha. Whether a person is a king or a poor man, one day everyone has to leave this world.)
After his sudden passing, a deep silence took over the katha venue. His followers and devotees were in shock.
Meanwhile, his family members are devastated and mourning his untimely demise.
His last rites were performed at his native village, Bavlya Khurd, near Indore. People present at the event mentioned that on Tuesday night, he was talking to everyone until around 2 AM. After going to sleep, he never woke up. Doctors believe that he had a heart attack in his sleep.
In the morning, when organizers tried to wake him up with tea, they initially thought he was just sleeping late because of the previous night’s long conversations. The katha, which started on March 31, was supposed to continue until April 6. For two days, Pandit Vyas had been telling devotees about the glory of Lord Shiva.
