Veteran New Zealand batter Kane Williamson was spotted in a ground or maidan in Mumbai as he interacted with the next generation of cricketers and spent time training them. In a video shared by Star Sports, Indian Test batter Sarfaraz Khan had also joined Williamson and clicked photos with the Kiwi batter.

Williamson, part of the Elite Group of Fab 4, is one of the most accomplished all-format batters of the current generation. The former New Zealand skipper is the highest all-format run-getter for his nation with 19086 runs in 371 matches. having debuted in 2010. Additionally, the veteran ushered the Black Caps to World Test Championship glory in 2021.

Kane Williamson went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old was one of the star cricketers that went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction held in November in Saudi Arabia. The right-handed batter played for the SunRisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans during his tenure in the cash-rich league from 2015 to 2024.

In 79 IPL games, the elegant right-handed batter had accumulated 1694 runs at 35.47 along with 18 half-centuries. Additionally, he had captained the SunRisers to the final in 2018 but fell short to the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in the decider.

Williamson is next likely to be in action for the national side during the T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa in July. However, he will have a PSL contract to fulfil with the Karachi Kings this year but might miss the start of the tournament.
