Dr. Yukiko Nakatani, Assistant Director General of Anti -Promotion of the World Health Organization, has been quoted as saying that aggressive fungal infection is a threat to the lives of the weakest people. But many countries do not have the means to stop them. There is no shortage of new antifungal drugs and tests. But district hospitals of lower and medium -income countries also lack fungal testing. Lack of testing means that the cause of people’s problems remain unknown. Due to which treatment becomes inadequate.

What is fungal infection?

The first report of the World Health Organization on fungal infection is very shocking. This new report released on 1 April states that there is a huge shortage of drugs and testing machines for dangerous fungal diseases. This report emphasizes the immediate need for new research and development to resolve this problem. The report states that fungal diseases are increasing rapidly. Which is a matter of concern. These include common infections – such as Candida, which causes oral and vaginal thrush. Treatment is becoming more difficult. This infection usually affects severely sick patients and people with weak immune systems. This includes patients doing cancer chemotherapy, HIV sufferers and patients doing organ transplants.

What is WHO report?

The most dangerous fungus in the world health organization’s fungal priority list is one whose death rate is up to 88%. Lack of treatment and testing facilities, deficiency of antifungal drugs, and the slow and difficult process of developing new remedies have made it a major challenge. A report by the World Health Organization on antifungal drugs states that only four new antifungal drugs have been approved in the US, the European Union or China in the last decade. Currently, 9 antifungal drugs for use against the most dangerous poetry are at the stage of clinical testing. However, only three drugs are in Phase III, which is their last test. This means that these medicines may come soon. 22 drugs are in the pre -of pregnancy testing phase. This is not yet appropriate considering the dropout rate risk and challenges associated with the initial growth stages.

How dangerous is fungal infection?

Fungal infections can usually range from light to severe. Some small infections can be cured easily. But some can be dangerous and even fatal. Light fungal infections can lead to skin infection, mouth infection or genital infection. At moderate levels, lung infections, asthma, sinusitis may occur. Also, dangerous and deadly fungal infections may include black fungus invasive candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis.
