Russia has given a strong warning to US President Donald Trump. Russia has said that if he implements his threat to bombing Iran’s nuclear installations, its consequences will be destructive.

The statement was given late Tuesday night by a spokesperson of Russian President Vladimir Putin, when Trump mentioned the possibility of military action against Iran in a public statement. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rayabkov said in an interview to an international affairs media outlet that we consider such threats and ultimatum inappropriate. We condemn this and consider it an attempt to impose America’s desire on Iran. Russia has offered mediation between the US and Iran on the issue. Moscow signed a strategic agreement with Tehran in January and is now trying to reduce tension between the two countries. However, Trump is adamant on strict stance.

Stress increased after America exiting nuclear deal

Trump removed the US from the Iran nuclear deal in 2015 during his first term. Under this agreement, Iran was given relief from economic sanctions in lieu of strict nuclear sanctions. Iran says that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and is not making nuclear weapons. Rayabkov warned that Trump’s threat could increase the regional tension further. He said that all parties still have time to try to reach a practical agreement. Russia is ready to help in these talks.
