Upasana Fukan, the only daughter of former Assam Home Minister Bhrigu Kumar Fukan, has passed away. According to the police, it appears to be a case of suicide. 28 -year -old Upasana gave his life on 20 March 2025 by jumping from the second floor of his house in Kharghuli area of Guwahati.
Worship was struggling with mental health
According to the police, worship lived with her mother. After the incident, he was immediately rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.

Not found suicide note
Police said no suicide note has been recovered from the incident site. Upasana’s father, Bhrigu Kumar Fukan, was the Home Minister in the first Assam Gana Parishad government of Assam. He was among those who signed the historic Assam Agreement in 1985. He died in 2006.
