When you see celebrities dazzling on the red carpet with stunning outfits, perfectly styled hair, and glamorous makeup, have you ever wondered what it takes to create that picture-perfect look? Well, today is your day to know, as Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh recently spilled the beans! The actress revealed the hefty price tag attached to celebrity stylist during her recent appearance on the Figuring Out With Raj Shamani podcast.

How much does a celebrity stylist charge?

It’s no secret that celebrity looks are carefully curated by a team of professionals. But how much does this glam game actually cost? Rakul shared that hiring a celebrity stylist alone can cost anywhere from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1 lakh, or even more, for a single red carpet look.

“There is a team to do that. You are not doing anything… it is expensive. A stylist can start from ₹20,000 for a red carpet look to ₹1 lakh for a single look, or even more. You pay for the stylist, the photographer, who shoots your look, and your hair and makeup team. I have worked with the same makeup and hair team for 6 years and they are like family now and sometimes they don’t even ask for anything,” the actress stated.

Do celebrities pay for their designer outfits?

One common question people ask is whether celebrities pay for the designer outfits they wear to red carpet events. Addressing this, Rakul explained that while designers often provide clothes for free to celebrities, it’s not as simple as it seems.

“No, you pay the stylist, who sources the outfit,” she clarified. “What stylists do is, they take a fee that covers everything from their assistants to the courier charges. This is why if you are wearing an international designer, the cost becomes higher. The stylists figure everything out about a look.”

She also highlighted why designers are willing to lend outfits to celebrities. “The designers always give out clothes to celebs because the clothes actors wear get attention on social media, thereby giving a designer visibility and their sales go up,” she said.

While many celebrities happily wear borrowed designer outfits, Rakul prefers to occasionally buy clothes curated by her stylists. “Ethically, I don’t like to take these for free,” the actress stated.
