Experts say that there are strong tremors of earthquake in both countries. The center of the earthquake is being described as Myanmar. The limit of damage to the two countries due to earthquake is not yet known, although there is a possibility of widespread destruction and death of many people. According to the information, more than 100 people have died, while the death toll may increase.

On the other hand, expressing concern over the situation after the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand, PM Modi tweeted on social media and said- ‘I pray for the safety and good of all. India has promised all possible assistance. In this context, Indian officials have been asked to be ready. Along with this, the Ministry of External Affairs has been asked to stay in touch with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand.

According to geologists, the center of earthquake was near Sagiing on the southern coast of Myanmar. The Geological Survey and the GFZ Geology Center in Germany reported that the afternoon earthquake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 mi). Due to this, tremors of strong earthquakes have been felt. It is being told that small shocks were felt in both countries 2 hours before the 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

 

Due to the earthquake, water started flowing from the ponds of Thailand and Myanmar. It has been said that many buildings have been destroyed. According to local media, after the earthquake, alarms started ringing in buildings and nervous people had to run down from the stairs of tall buildings and hotels in the densely populated Central Bangkok. People were asked not to leave the streets to avoid loss of life and property.
