The Government of India has made e-KYC mandatory for ration card holders to bring transparency and efficiency in the ration distribution system. Under this process, every beneficiary will have to get identity verification by linking his ration card to Aadhaar. March 31 is the last date, complete E-KYC on time

It has been made clear from the government that the last date for e-KYC of ration cards is 31 March. If a beneficiary does not get e-KYC till this date, then his ration card can be invalidated and government facilities like free ration received can be discontinued. Therefore, all the beneficiaries are advised to complete this process in time.

To e-KYC of the ration card, you will not have to visit any office. This process can be completed online from home. Follow the steps below:

  1. First of all visit the official website of your state’s public distribution system (PDS). Note that each state has different PDS websites.

  2. Go to the homepage of the website and find a similar option and click on it.

  3. Now you have to enter your ration card number and Aadhaar number. This Aadhaar number should be of the head of the family or the concerned member.

  4. For verification, use the same mobile number that is link to Aadhaar card.

  5. An OTP will come on your mobile, complete the verification by entering it.

  6. If all details are correct, the message of successful completion of E-KYC will appear on the screen.
