MP March 27 Weather Update: Intense Heat Grips The State, Temperature Breaches 41°C In Many Cities Including, Jabalpur, Khajuraho | Representative Image
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh welcomes early summers with intense heat across the state. Temperature has breached 41°C for the first time in the month of March itself. The mercury was recorded at 41.4°C on Thursday in Khajuraho of Chhatarpur.
Daytime Temperature soared up to 40°C in other cities, including Gwalior, Jabalpur, Damoh, Guna, Shivpuri, Satna and Sagar. The Meteorological Department warned of intense heat wave across the state in the last part of March and April.
Hike in temperature over the past 3 days
According to the Meteorological Department, hot winds coming from the west and south-west led to significant rise in temperature over the past 3 days.
Soaring temperature on Thursday
Thursday witnessed a intense hike in the temperature across the State.
Prithvipur of Niwari and Khajuraho of Chhatarpur recorded the hottest temperature with 41.4°C , followed by Damoh 40.5°C, Guna, Satna-Shivpuri recorded 40.2°C and Sagar recorded 40°C.
Similarly, Mandla-Tikamgarh recorded 39.8°C, Narmadapuram recorded 39.6°C, Rewa recorded 39.4°C, Shajapur recorded 39.3°C.
Big cities experienced severe heatwave, Bhopal recorded 38.7°C, Indore recorded 37.6°C, Gwalior recorded 39.5°C, Ujjain recorded 38 °C and Jabalpur recorded 39.5°C.
Temperature higher than normal in the state
Soaring temperature and hot winds blowing in the state signifies the arrival of intense summer in the state. The mercury is 1 degree to 4.5 degrees higher than normal in many cities and with the activation of Western Disturbance, the effect of heat wave will be evident in April.
Weather for next 2 Days
March 28: A drop of 2 to 3 degrees in day and night temperature is expected across the state.
March 29: There will be a drop in mercury in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior.
