London: Heavy uproar during Mamata Banerjee’s speech at Oxford University, ‘Go Back’ slogans

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee faced uproar while giving a speech at the Cellog College of Oxford University in London on Thursday. Mamta Banerjee was giving a speech and suddenly a group of protesting students started creating a ruckus. The students raised the issue of violence after elections in Bengal and the financial scam in college and hospital. The students asked him strict questions and also raised slogans of ‘Mamta back’. In response to this protest, Mamata Banerjee showed a picture of her 1990s in which she had a bandage on her head. He claimed that he was also attempted to assassinate when he was in opposition.

In fact, the controversy arose during Mamata Banerjee’s speech when an audience asked him about the investment proposals worth lakhs of crores in West Bengal. When Mamta was answering her question, another audience asked something in the middle. Then some people asked him a question about the rape and murder case at the Medical College by RG in Kolkata. According to reports, the protest was led by members of the Left Students Federation of India (SFI-UK). He accused Mamata Banerjee and her government of suppressing corruption and democratic rights. On this, Mamta retorted and said that you guys do this everywhere. You are my leftist friends and communal friends who use any platform to do politics. Students Federation of India have also shared pictures of this performance on their Facebook.

Apart from this, in her speech, Mamata Banerjee stressed on unity and inclusive development and said that when I am on a chair, I cannot share the society. We should work together for all religions, castes and classes. Unity is our strength and the division causes collapse. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he said that it takes some time to share people but it is difficult to maintain unity.
