Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Senior officials of the health establishment department, including additional commissioner Anil Banwaria and deputy commissioner KS Sagar, along with other municipal corporation employees on Thursday gave a complaint to municipal commissioner Shivam Verma against Mayor-in-Council (MIC) member and corporator Manish Sharma for alleged misbehavior and threats.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on March 26 at 5:05 PM in the deputy commissioner’s office, when the officials were discussing files related to the Lokayukta in the presence of health officers Gautam Bhatia (Zone 15), Avadh Narayan Singh (Zone 14), CSI Mishra (Zone 15) and other municipal health staff. Union leader Leeladhar Karosiya was also present during the discussion.
As per the complaint, MiC member Manish Sharma entered the office and immediately began addressing the additional commissioner and deputy commissioner in a loud and aggressive manner.
He allegedly reprimanded them for not responding to his calls, stating, “Do I have to call repeatedly? Do I need to make you understand in my own way?” He reportedly used inappropriate language, accused officials of wrongdoing and even threatened to get the additional commissioner removed from his post and transferred from the department.
Union leader Leeladhar Karosiya intervened, urging Sharma to cool down and moderate his language, reminding him that the union was also present and engaged in discussions about employee welfare. Following this, Sharma left the premises.
The municipal officials said in their complaint that they had been performing their duties with dedication and integrity. However, the MiC member’s conduct, especially in front of subordinate employees, was demeaning and dented their professional morale.
They expressed concern over such behaviour and urged appropriate action against Sharma.
