The holy month of Ramadan has now reached its final stage and Eid-ul-Fitr is at its peak in the Muslim community around the world. This festival, which comes after a month’s prayer, Roja, and self-control, is not just happiness, but is a day to thank Allah and give the message of brotherhood in society. This time in Saudi Arabia too, people are busy preparing for Eid with full enthusiasm and gaiety, but the most important question is-when will Eid-ul-Fitr be celebrated this time?

Eid-ul-Fitr official holiday declared in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi government has announced holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, which has been decided according to different sectors:

  • Government Department: Ramadan will be the last working day on 24, 1446 Hijri (Monday). After this, all government offices will remain closed.
  • Private Sector: The holidays here will start after the end of working day on Ramadan 29 (Saturday).
  • Non-Profit Organizations: The holidays for this sector will also begin with Saturday, Ramadan 29.

In this way, people in all areas will get a lot of time to celebrate Eid and spend time with their family and friends.

What is the possible date of Eid-Hul-Fitr 2025?

The date of Eid depends on the moon of Shawwal according to the Islamic lunar calendar.

  • According to the National Research Institute of Astronomy, Egypt, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1 pm (Cairo Time) will take birth of Shawwal.
  • Astronomical estimates suggest that the moon will appear for a while after sunset in Saudi Arabia, which increases the chances of seeing the moon.

If everything happened, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, 30 March 2025. However, the final decision will be taken only after the actual vision of the moon, as in the Islamic tradition.
