According to the health department of UMC, the District Collector received multiple complaints about bogus doctors in Ulhasnagar. Following these complaints, an inquiry was conducted, revealing a list of 26 doctors practicing in the city. Upon scrutinizing their documents and certificates, officials found fraudulent credentials and took strict action against 18 bogus doctors.

Officials stated that after reviewing the doctors’ documents, they were confirmed to be fake. Subsequently, an FIR was filed against them under the instructions of UMC Commissioner and Administrator Manisha Awhale.

Dr. Mohini Dharma, a health officer at UMC, stated, “After reviewing a report, we discovered that several doctors were practicing medicine without proper authorization. Out of the 26 doctors, we filed an FIR against 18. Among the remaining eight, three were registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council, four clinics were shut down during our visit, and one doctor was found to be under the jurisdiction of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC).”
